Inside the Halloween Movies

The original Halloween Movie 'Halloween' was released in 1978 when director John Carpenter brought the story of Michael Myers on the celluloid. The story of the film revolves around Michael who stalks and kills teenage babysitters on the Halloween night. The film starts with Michael (six year old) killing his sister Judith (seventeen year old) on the Halloween night of 1963. Subsequently, Michael gets hospitalized at Smith's Grove Sanitarium. However, Michael manages to escape and returns to his hometown, where he stalks babysitters Laurie Strode and her friends. At the climax of the movie, Dr. Sam Loomis – the psychiatrist of Michael shoots him six times to put an end to his killings.

Halloween II starts from where Halloween left off. The body of Michael goes missing from the front lawn, where Loomis shot him. Michael follows Laurie to a local hospital. He starts killing everyone who comes between him and Laurie. It comes into light that Laurie is actually the sister of Michael. However, Michael corners both Laurie and Loomis in an operating room. In a desperate attempt, Loomis causes an explosion. Laurie escapes as Michael gets engulfed in flames. He stumbles out of the room and starts moving towards Laurie before succumbing to death finally.

The third Halloween movie Halloween III: Season of the Witch has hardly got any connection with the previous versions of Halloween movies. The movie revolves around the mysterious murder of a patient. In the later years, a number of other Halloween movies got released, which include Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988), Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989), Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), Halloween: Resurrection (2002) and two more.

In 2007, the remake of the original Halloween was released. The film brings out the events that lead Michael Myers to kill his family members. This film also reveals that Michael is actually the brother of Laurie.

A sequel to this remake has recently been released in the year 2009. The Halloween movie, named Halloween II, starts from where the previous one left off. In this movie, Michael is presumed dead. However, he reappears once again after a vision of his departed mother Deborah. According to the vision, his mother insists him to track Laurie down and come home together. The film intricately showed that, Michael and his sister Laurie do share the same vision that their mother had.
