Christmas Cookie Easy Recipes

The citizens of Germany decorate the indoor as well as the outdoors of their house with lights, crafts and other decorative items at the time of the festival of Christmas . The time from 1st December to Christmas Eve is known as Adventszeit, that is the time of advent.

The most important tradition that is related to the Adventszeit is the baking of cookies. Families, friends and relatives come together and bake different kinds of cookies.

The German Christmas Cookie Recipes are easy to make cookie recipes.Some of the Christmas Cookie Easy Recipes are:



  • Basic Cookie Dough Recipe

    Ingredients:



  • 1/2-cup (or 1 stick) of butter (or margarine) at room temperature

  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar, lightly packed

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

    Procedure:

    • In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the flour. Beat with an electric mixer, scrap the sides of the bowl several times, until the mixture gets light and fluffy. With the help of a mixer at a low speed, add the flour gradually, beat until all the ingredients gets blended.

    • Place the mixture on a baking sheet using a tablespoon measure and press down with a spoon to flatten a bit or roll out and cut into shapes with a cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degree Farenheight for about 12 to 15 minutes, until it acquires a golden color.


  • Breakfast Cookies

    Ingredients:

    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

    • 3/4 cup sugar

    • 1 egg

    • 1 cup flour

    • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

    • 10 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

    • 2 cups cornflakes

    • 1/2 cup raisins


    Procedure:

    • In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Add flour and baking soda; mix well. Stir in bacon, cornflakes and raisins. Drop by rounded tablespoons 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.

    • Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to18 minutes or until it acquires a light brown color. Before removing it to wire racks, cool for 2 minutes. Store in the refrigerator
