Directed by the famous stop motion animator, Henry Selick, it was released in 1993 while the storyline was based on the sketches and a poem written by Tim Burton, an animator working for Disney. Though he proposed the story to Disney, it was declined.But soon after it’s release in 1993, it was greatly appreciated.
Though often likened to another famous movie,The Grinch that stole Christmas, The Night Before Christmas has its own charm and individuality and is a stark opposite to the Grinch as Jack Skellington, the leader of the Halloween town merely wanted to hail Christmas in his own way but ended up messing it in the process. But his intentions were noble and he ultimately succeeded in introducing Christmas in the Halloween town.
Though, The Night Before Christmas collectibles have become rare and hard to procure, alternative clothing stores such as Hot Topic, has lead to an explosion of new merchandise. Though not authentic, The Night Before Christmas Watches are available in these shops and you are likely to find a whole array of watches to choose from, ranging from the ones that have pictures of the characters in the background to the ones that have flaps with the faces of the characters as covers.
