Get nice handmade paper. Water colors, lace and small cut outs of cupids and hearts! Use these to make a card at home. Make sure to have lace trimmings, just as they used to in the Middle Ages.
Another unique and interesting concept is to use leftover grains at home to make a card. There is nothing like a bowl full of dark red kidney beans! Get nice colored paper and cut it into a Greeting card. Draw a large heart right in the middle of the paper. Arrange and stick the kidney beans on the paper with glue and you’ll have a lovely glowing heart! Color any leftover spaces on the card with crayons for effect. Write an acrostic poem with the initials of your partner’s name for a more dramatic impact.
Another interesting card that you could try making at home is with dry twigs and leaves. You can simply arrange twigs creatively on a paper or glue them on in a pattern. You can leave them as it is or paint them for effect!
