Redneck is basically an offensive slang word. It is usually reserved for a white rural southerner in the United States.
It originated in reference to agricultural workers, referring to how the back of a person's neck will be burned by the sun if he works for long hours in the fields.
Redneck 12 day of Christmas is a parody of the original Christmas carol "12 days of Christmas".
The song is about the division between the urban people and the rural people. The simple rural folks are referred to as country bumpkins, people without culture or education who drank too much. The urban people prided themselves with the knowledge of the ways of the world. Redneck 12 day of Christmas is a very refreshing parody of the very serious Christmas carol. In the parody Mustang GT is mentioned. Mustang GT from Ford is what is termed as "pure American muscle".
Hunting dogs, ordinary flannel shirts, shot gun shells are all associated with the country life. The popular Christmas carol 12 days Christmas has had many parodies but this one by Jeff Foxworthy in 2004 is one of the funniest. The whole song has many words which makes even the stiffest lipped, smile. The reference to the rural community is done in a disparaging way, but the whole effect is of innocent fun.
