By Mother Mary St Anne, we refer to mother of Blessed Virgin Mary, St Anne. She is listed among the Devine saints and feature as quite a popular figure in Canada and a number of churches around the world have been dedicated to her. Known for her reverent kindness and sacrifice and often referred to as “Grace”,

“Gracious” or the “Loving One”, St Anne stands out as a memorable figure in the pages of history. But knowledge about her is meager and the story of her life is shrouded in mystery. There is no mention of her in the New Testament.
All our information is based on the texts, which date back to 150 A.D and though some of them are regarded as authentic documents like the Protoevangelium of James (which is hailed in the Orient as the sole authority and portions of it were read during the feasts of Mary by the Greeks, Syrians, Copts and Arabians while The fathers of the Church in the Occident rejected it until its incorporation by Jacobus de Voragine in his "Golden Legend" in the thirteenth century) the Gospel of the Nativity of Mary, the Gospel of Pseudo-Matthew, their contents cannot be taken at face value. But the most popular story that has been going down for ages talks of a pious couple in Nazareth named Joachim and St Anne who’s prayers for a child was answered but they were confronted with the condition that they would have to offer her to the service of God when she would attain three years of age. According to Devine will, Mary the immaculate child was born to them and grew up into the Consoler of the Afflicted and was duly blessed by the people of the whole world. Mother Mary St Anne has carved out a niche for herself and is worshipped and adored by her followers and disciples throughout the world.
