It is true that in the modern world, we are so driven by our own wants and demands, that for us Christmas is nothing more than partying around with friends and spending on expensive gifts. Beyond all this we should all remember that the true spirit of Christianity is far from this. It lies in our thought and consideration for those who are not as fortunate as we are. The Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes is a means by which we can bring a precious smile to the children, who are caught up in some unfortunate situations all over the world. Through this project, shoeboxes filled with gifts can be donated to the organizations that conduct such services. They in turn will deliver those gift boxes to those children, who are either suffering from some serious ailments or are trapped in those corners of the world which gives them nothing but violence. The International Relief, Samaritan’s Purse is one such organization, which conducts such voluntary services. Now as you decide to donate, first decide whether your gift is for a girl or a boy and the age group for which such a gift is suitable. So after you have packed your gifts in the empty shoebox, you can attach a label on the pack with all this information. You may as well place your name, address and photograph along with your gift so that the child can write back to you. Isn’t it a great way to spread the web of love and care, which can bind us all together in a huge family, and what better way to celebrate Christmas than to share our joys with our family and dear ones?
