Independence Day Washington D.C.

The Constitution Avenue in Washington D.C. is the official venue for the annual American Independence Day celebrations; though the day is observed with equal solemnity and fervour in different parts of the United States of America.

There are those who religiously visit the National Archives each year to see the real document on which John Hancock had out his signature for the first time in 1776.

The National Independence Day parade is a significant event that marks the celebrations. Key participants include military units, special force units, music bands, fife and drum corps, civil and military equestrian teams among others.

A large number of American celebrities participate in the annual Washington D.C. events every year. The occasion marks the celebration of the signing of ‘Declaration of Independence’ in the year 1776.

The Parade begins at the 7th Street and passes through all roads that lead to the 17th Street. Each year the streets are jam packed with spectators who come from all walks of life to enjoy and celebrate free America’s birthday.

The annual PBS Concert at the Capitol building features the National Symphony Orchestra. And the celebration ends with a spectacular display of fireworks! The entire show is managed by the National Park Service. The 17-minute ritual accompanied with musical bonanza lights up everything from Thomas Jefferson Memorial to the Washington Monument.
