Christmas cookies are an integral part of our holiday traditions. Right from the days of our childhood, we have had the experience of seeing our mothers and other elderly members in the family preparing and Cookie cookies.
Christmas cookies are all the more famous and popular as they serve as ideal Christmas showers.
Maple Shortbread Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 2/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Procedure
Stir the flour and sugar and cut in butter not until the mixture is crumbly. Press into an 8-inch square-Cookie pan. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes. Mix coconut, syrup, and salt. Wait for the coconut to absorb most of the syrup and keep stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes. Spread over warm crumb crust mixture and return to the oven for 10 minutes longer. Cut into squares while warm.
