George Michael in his parent's house wrote the Last Christmas song as Andrew Ridgley watched Match of the Day on TV. George stayed up all night to finish the song and Andrew called back in the morning to hear the completed potential hit.
The song was released with Everything She Wants on the B-side. This resulted in the single selling over a million despite the fact that Last Christmas song was never on number one position in the UK chart.
