Greece has got its own cuisines that taste delicious and are sure to tempt anyone. The Easter Greek food is definitely great and amazing to be had during the various festivities. The food is a part of every fiesta and Easter is no exception. In fact Greek food is an essential part of the fiesta and is relished by the people in Greece. There are various religious observances that are connected to the food.
The foods are in admiration of the gods and goddesses and signify their almighty supremacy. There are various types of Greek Easter foods that have their derivation from various holy and principled beliefs. The Greeks regard the Clean Monday to be a vital part of the Greek festive vacations since the people organize various activities. Besides this the people also prepare various tantalizing recipes that comprise of the assortments of bean stews, squid, prawns, Soupies Giahni, calamari and above all salads that are free from meat.

The Holy Thursday has a special dish that comprises of making dyed red colored eggs since they symbolize Easter. Tradition has it that Mother Mary originally dyed eggs to rejoice the honoring of Christ. The Greeks believe that Easter has a very religious and holy importance for them and therefore prepare foods like the Koulouria that is a type of dough cookies and traditional sweet bread known as Tsoureki that is relished by the people. The food is served with immense concern due to their sacred importance. The feast that is commonly had on the Easter Sunday is the lamb or goat that is baked above a charcoal fire. Wines, special types of cakes, breads and cookies are the other foods that are not forgotten during the fiesta.

The most crucial part of the celebration comes when the people of every household are cordially greeted in the Greek language to come in and join the feast. They are then offered the food and as an invitation. Therefore the charm of the Easter fiesta lies in the foods.
