Easter Story

Easter is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter comes during the springtime when winter has just begun to set off. There are various customs and traditions that are associated with Easter. It is very interesting to know the story of Easter. One would have read in books but there is a true story behind why people began celebrating Easter. Read on further to know all about the story behind Easter.

Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem to Joseph and Mary. People celebrate the birth of Christ on Dec 25th, which is called the Christmas day. Jesus spent his childhood in Nazareth and learnt many things in life. At a very young age he visited churches and told many great stories about god. He gradually began spreading the message of god. People listened to him patiently and liked his preaching. But there were some people who were against him and wanted to get rid of him.

Jesus then called on his disciples to have the last supper with them. Jesus served bread and wine to his disciples and made them feel good. One of his disciples Judas let him down as he got a bag filled with coins for doing so. Jesus was then brutally beaten and was also hung on a cross with his hands and legs nailed to the cross. In spite of all the pain he had Jesus still continued to forgive his enemies.

The people who could not bear to see the sight wrapped the body of Jesus in a cloth and kept his body in a cave and covered the opening of the cave with a huge stone. After three days the people were astound to find the stone move away from the actual place. The people were surprised to find a messenger from god who conveyed the message of Jesus resurrection. It is for this reason that people even to this day celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on a Sunday called the Easter day.
