Easter Holiday

Easter is a special celebration, hence holidays are declared on the consecutive days beginning with Ash Wednesday and concluding at midnight on Holy Saturday. Easter is the commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third of his death by crucifixion. It is also regarded as the most epoch-making event of the Christian calendar. Holidays during Easter is a time of religious observance starting with Shrove Tuesday, some forty days before Easter, and ends with Whitsun (or Pentecost) which is 50 days after Easter Sunday.
Easter as a public holiday is observed in different parts of the world, hence wide preparations are marked to make the day as special as it can be. Easter holiday celebrations around the world are marked by a difference owing to the fact that each country or region has their own traditional significance attached to it. In Spain "Dance of Death" on Maundy Thursday is a special celebration, while in Verges, Gerona men dress as skeletons and perform macabre dance.

Easter holidays in different countries are celebrated at different times of the year. In New Zealand; people attend church services over the weekend to celebrate both the death and resurrection of Christ and to mark the end of Lent. For the citizens of Czech Republic, Easter holiday is no longer considered a great Catholic feast; it is rather observed more as an acceptance of the vibrant spring season and an opportunity for intimate family gathering. And to make the occasion of Easter more memorable, there’s a poem titled ‘Easter Holidays’ dedicated to the very event. Here’s sharing with you the heartwarming lyrics of the poem:

Easter holiday, is a celebration of the resurrection of Christ!
Jesus Christ, The Son of God, bled and died for us in a sacrifice.

This Spring day's celebrated, generally in the month of April.
All of the bright and pretty colors, of the Easter outfits with frills.

Women and children will wear their Easter bonnets.
In the Spring, you'll hear the various musical sonnets.

April will bring many rain showers.
That'll bring us various beautiful flowers.

One special flower for this day is the Easter Lily.
Its color is white, and yet snowy & milky.

The birds will sing their songs of praise.
As we begin to feel the warmth of the sun's rays.

As we say "Goodbye" to the winter's gloom,
The flowers and trees have already begun to bloom.

All of life's beauty, The Lord created, for us all to share.
Spring breezes begin to flow, sending fragrances through the air.

The winter's thawing will let the rivers, lakes, and streams rise and flow.
The beauty of the Earth will make us all feel aglow!

Farmers and gardeners will start to hoe.
And then they'll begin to sow.

On Sundays, we'll hear the various church bells ring.
Let's be grateful for the LORD, let's rejoice and sing.

If it wasn't for the Lord, we wouldn't have anything!
