Another Victorian Christmas decorations include hanging of stockings. The custom of hanging stockings comes from Victorian era. Legend has it that Father Christmas once dropped some gold coins while coming down the chimney. Had there been no stocking that had been hung out to dry, the coins would have fallen into the ashes and been lost. Since then children have been hanging stockings in hope of finding them filled with gifts.
Flowers are used extensively by Victorians to decorate the sanctuaries at Easter. They also hang scarlet berries at Christmas.
