White Pine
White Pines have soft, blue-green needles. The needles are present in bundles of five and are 2 to 5 inches long. The tree holds its needles throughout the holiday season. The appearance is thick with little or no fragrance. Hence, it evokes less allergic reactions as compared to more fragrant trees. Small branches support smaller decorations as compared to Scotch pine. It’s wood is used in cabinets, interior finish and carving, and also to make cough medicines.
Blue Spruce
Blue Spruce Christmas trees are the best among the species for needle retention. The needles are symmetrical, very stiff and get dropped in warm atmosphere. The tree has got dark green to powdery blue appearance. Branches are stiff too and thus support many heavy decorations. Blue Spruce can live in nature 600-800 years.
Nobel Fir
Nobel Fir is used in making Christmas wreaths and garland. It bears one-inch long Bluish green needles with silvery appearance. Branches are short but rugged enough to support heavy ornaments.
