There are many kinds of Christmas tree rash
- Pityriasis Rosea is a kind of Christmas rash tree that usually begins from the spine or the middle line of the back or front of the body and gradually begins to spread outward. The rash caused by a virus is mildly itchy and may flake or peel.
- The Pityriasis Rosea symptoms are when you feel you have a cold. A single scaly red spot may appear on the back or stomach. After days and weeks smaller spots develop on the body.
- These spots may have a really bad itching. The rash on the back may have a shape of a Christmas tree. This is usually called the Christmas tree rash.
- While some people believe that this rash is caused by viral or bacterial infection some others feel that it is caused by certain medicines. The exact cause of this rash is uncertain.
- Pityriasis Rosea is not contagious and people can be made to mingle together. There is no cure for this rash but medicines can be given to relieve the itching.
- Pityriasis lasts for about one or three months and usually never comes back. As the rash takes the shape of a Christmas tree it is called the Christmas tree rash.
