It is Christmas time people busy celebrating the joyous time. When you all are busy giving expression to your joy a man stands alone at a secluded point. Santa will bring hidden treasures of joy for all but he knows not when his life can come to a halt. We experience freedom in our daily life and it is the unknown man who

plays Santa�s role and brings us freedom for an entire life. Yes, you are right I am talking about the brave hearted soldiers who are there to protect our life. Christmas brings us a lot of things but the life of a soldier remains the same every season. Military Christmas poem salutes the action packed life of the soldiers and bridges the gap between him and us.

T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
