If you are looking for the right kind of movie which would set the mood for Christmas, settle for the best, feel good movie Hollywood has ever produced, the Jimmy Stewart starrer It’s A Wonderful Life. Jimmy Stewart or James Maitland Stewart had a knack for acting right from his childhood days and he was quite fond of performing magic tricks. Jimmy participated in the student plays while he was a student at Princeton University. His career took off once he went to New York and landed with some roles on Broadway. His first major break came when he signed a contract with MGM and headed for Hollywood. Then there was no looking back. During the Second World War, he joined the U.S. Military and received several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and rose to the rank of Colonel. He resumed acting and soon won over the hearts of millions. Some of his best movies are "Destry Rides Again" (1939), "The Cheyenne Social Club" (1970) while "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", "The Philadelphia Story", "It's a Wonderful Life”,” Harvey" won him Oscar nominations and best actor awards.
But the best Jimmy Stewart Christmas Movie is by far, It’s A Wonderful Life, which deals with a man named George Bailey who sacrificed his big dreams for the betterment of his hometown, Bedford Falls but through no fault of his own, he misplaces a $8000 loan and with the machinations of the evil millionaire, Mr. Potter lurking behind him, he tries to commit suicide, but the turn of events force him to save the life of his guardian angel Clarence, who gets a wing for having been successful in convincing Bailey that his life’s been a fruitful one, as he shows Bailey what would have happened if he hadn’t been born at all.
