GE Christmas Lights

Christmas lights are strands of electric lights that are used for decorating homes, the Christmas tree and also the public buildings. The GE Christmas Lights are used for decorating the inside as well as the exterior of a house.

Lets look at the history of the GE Christmas Lights

  • 1892-The GE that is the General Electric Company was founded

  • 1900-The company got registered. In this year the first advertisement for lamps that can be used to adorn the Christmas tree, which was being sponsored by the GE, appeared in the Scientific American Magazine.

  • 1903-1904- The GE offered the public for the first time pre-lit wires intended for Christmas trees

  • 1910- The GE began to change the shape of their Christmas lamps from a pear to that of a round globe.

  • 1916-The GE company were the first to use tungsten filament in their Christmas lamps

  • 1919- THE GE supplied to the people a flame or cone shaped Christmas lamp containing a tungsten filament

  • 1922- The round globe lamps were discarded by the GE and were replaced by the cone shaped lamps

  • The General electric replaced the round globe lamps with the lamps, which were slightly smaller ribbed.

  • 1927- The GE were the first to use the large, intermediate size base for their new outdoor Christmas light bulbs.

  • 1935- Introduced candle shaped lamps
