City Christmas Trees

As the spirit of Christmas dawns this year, spare your penny to take a look at the season’s most coveted trees and their varieties that bring home the essence of Advent and the end that all festivities seek to achieve with Christmas Carnivals City Christmas Trees that herald the moment of good cheer and mirth into your life.

New York dons an all new look for the season of the festivals – Christmas.
It is a beauty decked with the awesome street lights and a whole lit Christmas tree in red and green so much so that your eyes will be bedazzled. In the Rockfeller Center, the Christmas tree is displayed between November 11 and January 7. It is traditionally illuminated from 5.30 in the morning to about 11 in the night, except on Christmas day and New Year’s Eve. The Lighting Ceremony takes place on November 30, an event that’s telecast live all over the States. There are performances and ice skating by the Radio City Rockettes. The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is a Norway Spruce that is between 75 and 90 feet tall and proportionally wide. The Lincoln Center Christmas tree Lighting Ceremony takes place in the Josie Robertson Plaza with performances by the New York City Ballet and the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus. It is lighted by Mickey Mouse who arrives all the way from Disneyland.

The lighting of the Origami Holiday Tree takes place in the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall for over 3 decades to mark the start of the holiday season. The theme of 2006 is “flight”, represented by an array of winged creatures - birds, owls, jays, and doves; insects - dragonflies and butterflies; and even the only flying mammal - the bat, hang from and surround the base of the tree. Volunteers teach visitors the art of origami folding. For more on Christmas trees like the Chorus Tree, Broadway Holiday Tree and more, browse Christmas Carnivals City Christmas Trees.
