Metro Goldwyn Mayer produced the movie in 1938.
Although there are several adaptations of this work, this movie in particular was popular with the theatre actors, who subsequently revived it. With a short running time of just 69 minutes, it was regarded as the most gorgeous adaptation of Dickens’ novel. Reginald Owen’s performance as Scrooge was highly appreciated. There after in 1884, there was another television adaptation of A Christmas Carol movie. Clive Donner directed this television adaptation, and George C. Scott gave a brilliant performance as the surly moneylender Scoorge. Between these we also find two other adaptations of the movie one in released in 1910 and the other in 1971. The 1971 version is a short animated cartoon of 29 minutes, which was directed by Richard Williams and the 1910 is a silent movie starring Mark Mc Dermott as Scoorge.
