Spare him of the tedious ordeal; make it a fun experience for him and yourself. Take time out and sit with your kid while the movie is being screened. Explain the complex dialogues, biblical allegories and the metaphorical meanings they carry. A heavy dose of philosophy might put him off. Let the whole idea seep in slowly but surely. Making your kid aware of the circumstances and background of Ebenezer Scrooge is also important. Let him develop his own unbiased opinions. Let him sympathize with Scrooge rather than hate him.
