North Dakota boasts of having more churches than any other states. There are more than 2000 churches within North Dakota. Area residents congregate annually at 6p.m on Christmas day at North Trinity Church in Nash, to ring the Christmas bell.

General George Armstrong Custer hosts a celebration during Christmas time. The Custer house and barracks are decorated for the holidays. Sleigh rides are organized and the Christmas evening is spent with a grand feast, entertainment and Christmas stories.
