The most important event that is related with the festival of Christmas in Minnesota takes place in Christ Chapel. At the beginning of December, the Gustavus community of Minnesota prepare for this festival by worshipping together in the annual Christmas in Christ Chapel program. Every year 1200 people attend the church service that is held at the Christ Chapel. A theme is chosen every year to facilitate worship and teach the participants, as well as the people something new about faith, culture and the world. About 350 students, faculty, and staff infuse life into the program through choral, orchestral, brass, handbell and organ music, dance, spoken word and prayer. Some of the past themes of this Church include Julbon Christmas Prayer (2002), A Celtic Pilgrimage (2001), Heaven and Nature Sing (2000), The Holy Family (1998), Child of Light (1996), Old and New Spain (1994) and others.
