Christmas in Arizona sees a “Christmas Parade” before the main festival. The main objective of this Christmas Parade is to kick off the Christmas holiday season. The tradition of this parade started in 1946 as a post World War II effort by the local business magnates. Though it was on a small scale when it had started, today it is held on a grand scale, but the old fashioned charm of the small town involvement has lingered. Many Arizonans who live outside this state, come here before Christmas to take part in this annual fun activity.
The Christmas Parade has a theme every year. The excitement starts at ten in the morning. The small children and the teenagers can visit the Santa Claus at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and receive a bag loaded with Christmas goodies. The parade site looks like affair ground. It is colorfully decorated and hordes of food and art vendors line up along the parade route.
Christmas decorations are a must see for all in Christmas in Arizona. All the houses are well lit with various types of lights and there are huge outdoor decorations too.
